Pluto turns retrograde @ 7°30′ Capricorn on April 9th, 2011 and remains retrograde until September 16th, 2011 when direct station occurs at 4°53′ Capricorn.

Transformational Pluto seeks to empower individual and societal entities through the eradication of that which is non-beneficial and incongruous to the future well-being of said entity. Pluto assists us in reinventing portions of our lives that we were previously unable, or unwilling, to adapt on our own so that we might move forward on our path unencumbered by previous obstacles or outworn patterns/programs.

Governmental structures and large business institutions are beholden to Capricorn and while Pluto transits this sign these area’s are being continually, if seemingly at times slowly, purified to the core. As of the current time that I am penning this post, we in the U.S. are just a few short hours away from finding out if the “threat”(as termed by some mainstream media venues) of a Governmental Shutdown of “non-essential departments and programs” becomes a reality.

If this shutdown occurs it will be just hours before Pluto officially turns retrograde. Regardless if the shutdown takes place or no, the next weeks that Pluto remains on this retrograde degree will likely churn up previously “hidden” information related to this situation. As Uranus and Pluto tighten their square in the forthcoming weeks agitation in the U.S.  over this situation will likely be strongly present within public sentiment and may be the impetus for much larger changes occurring in 2012 and onward when the Uranus-Pluto squares come exact. Of course since September of 2010 while Pluto has been traveling direct numerous significant global events have occurred that relate directly to the transformation of Capricorn structures and those events too shall be revisited at another level if Pluto deems it necessary.

Pluto is non-discriminatory, and while transiting Capricorn which is ruled by Saturn, we are all being brought to accountability(saturn) for the manners in which we lend our power(pluto) to Capricorn structures and are urged to redefine or better develop our personal authority(saturn) in regards to the usage of our power(pluto). It is my opinion that individuals and collective agencies that exemplify true authority in regards to their personal power never seek to garner the power of others via threats of any nature or course.

Pluto in Capricorn insists that individuals acknowledge the reality(saturn) of these larger structures so that effective changes can occur that will foster the institution of future agencies and structures that do not seek to garner the power of many for the benefit of a few. With Capricorn’s ruler Saturn transiting Libra, the sign of justice, balance and equalities, we are receiving many lessons that will no doubt be applied more thoroughly to our individual and collective Capricorn affairs as time goes on.

On the personal level, while Pluto energies have a stronger inner-presence during retrograde it’s a great time to find clarity in where one stands on these these collective issues. Inner-directed Pluto is also fabulous for receiving direction on where one might want to implement changes that will allow for a greater sense of self-empowerment.

Keep in mind while working towards reinvention of self-concerns, or when observing the reworking of collective area’s, that Pluto preforms deep clearings on a slower time scale than other astral energies. This may help to reduce any frustration arising from feeling as if some things will never change for all things are continually changing. Patience(saturn) and endurance(capricorn) are necessary during these years of transformation(pluto). {{and that is mostly a reminder for myself for patience has never been one of my better developed attributes!!}}

The New Moon @ 13°30′ Aries occurs on April 3, 2011 at 10:33 am EST.

This lunation offers the potential for extraordinary manifestations coming forth and is most certainly NOT a passive Moon. Passionate, assertive, driven and optimistic, the vibe of this Moon is that of the full-on vitality of youth bursting with maxed out hormones and a devil-may-care attitude. This energy is awesomely sexual. Tension and temptation are present here yet so is the possibility of finding release from oppressive situations and sinking one’s proverbial teeth into an apple so amazingly sweet it is worth all the will-power and self-control one may have to exert to obtain what is prized.

Breakthroughs, breakouts, breakups, breakdowns and maybe a “Oh sh*t.. HIT the BRAKES!!” are all in the realm of possibilities the next weeks as this New Moon energy unfolds. Aiming for one’s ambitions with the expectation of having to deal with a few shots gone awry is probably in order as well as being prepared to deflect/duck any stray shots of others that might breach your personal space.  Everyone is going to be feeling driven to promote their self-identity in some way so demonstrating tolerance as much as is possible will go a long way in keeping the peace between one’s self and others. Of course, if another is manifesting these energies in a violent or otherwise dangerous manner discernment should replace tolerance and do whatever you need to do remove yourself from the situation.

The specifics for this lunation find the New Moon applying to conjunction with Jupiter while tightly opposing Saturn in Libra. The New Moon and Jupiter are separating from a square with Pluto in Capricorn while Saturn is applying to Pluto by square(though this square will not become exact). This T-square configuration implies that while the unified self (sun-moon) is expanding(jupiter) into new directions and forms(aries) there needs to be a balance achieved in some manner with one’s relational responsibilities and/or ones’ sense of what constitutes relational equality(saturn-libra).

The oppositional aspect from the New Moon to Saturn is in a very tight orb so it is not at all unlikely that one’s new track, whatever that may be, will be met with some level of opposition from others. Oppositions can bring to awareness something previously overlooked or misunderstood, and with the square to Pluto, a change of plans or course of action relative to one’s new endeavors and/or relations may be necessary to stay consistent with the reinvention of one’s public persona and responsibilities(capricorn).

While the New Moon is technically not in conjunction with Mercury Rx, Mars and Uranus, they are all holding company in Aries nonetheless, and their influence will be apparent in many ways the next weeks as New Moon events unfold. Our wild-card Uranus has combined forces with action-oriented Mars(co-ruler of the New Moon) and Mercury Rx is determined that we get our facts down pat.

Uranus-Mars is the influence I foresee catalyzing the whole slew of “break” terms I shared early in this post. This is a highly volatile yet exhilarating energy and while I do not believe we are always able to harness this one 100% to our personal wishes it never hurts to give it a good go provided some common sense is applied!

Uranus is the “Great Awakener” and is represented by the following keywords: electric, sudden, surprises, shock, revolution, liberation and invention. Mars is pure energy and is represented by the following keywords: passion,drive, action, initiative, will and assertiveness. Whatever you are aiming for with this New Moon be prepared to channel the Uranus-Mars duo into it. Go for shock-and-awe!, BE the big-bang!, leave ‘em intrigued and begging for more, stir up that pot and go the devil-may-care route. Utilize the Mars-Uranus combo to either break free of that which is preventing you from putting forth your New and Amazing Self or to further your New Directions!

Mercury Retrograde in this lunation connects to this New Moon via a wide applying conjunction to Jupiter. This could play out in many different ways according to the individual and their personal situations. One possibility is that the mind needs to be subdued so that spirit can be heard more clearly. “Sometimes you have to stop thinking so much and go where your Heart carries You” would be one connotation. Another possibility is that this MercuryRx is acting as a road map in a sense. Maybe you have glimpsed recently where you are headed to but just aren’t really clear on how to get there. Mercury is coming back and working out the kinks in the road, and when he again travels forward 3 weeks hence, the path of destination will be much clearer and easier to follow.

Due to the Mercury Rx influence during this lunation, and the weeks following, it’s important to strive to communicate as clearly and precisely as possible with others and to be sure you are clear on any information you receive from others. Walk things through as carefully as you are able while being spurred on by the Aries bunch to “JUST DO IT!”. Tricky, tricky….and yet just so darn exhilarating too!

On a final note, this lunation presents as a bucket pattern when inclusive of the Nodes and that makes Saturn the bucket handle. Though there is a tremendous amount of Aries influence in this lunation the importance of Saturn should not be underestimated and the measure of one’s success during this lunation period is likely to be dependent on how well one is fairing concerning Saturn in Libra lessons. That being said though, I think it is very likely that this New Moon will catalyze many relationships to a greater form of commitment and for others a new relationship will be born. This Moon is highly charged and quite sexy after all!

Mercury turns retrograde on March 30th @ 25° Aries with direct station occurring April 22nd @ 13° Aries. The current phase of retrograde comes to closure on May 11th when Mercury clears the shadow of retrograde.

Representative of our thinking aptitudes and perceptions, Mercury rules all forms of  communications, methods of transport and commerce. During retrograde periods glitches can occur within communication systems, modes of transport and commerce related dealings that require us to slow down and reassess our approaches and choices.

On a personal level cognitive skills are often challenged and making decisions generally requires extra patience and time. While MercuryRx periods are generally not considered favorable for making contractual agreements or committing oneself to new projects for anything begun from scratch during this time often needs to be reworked later or just doesn’t get off the ground at all. This period is conducive to putting efforts into ongoing projects through a whole slew of “RE-words” such as:  reorganize, reedit, renegotiate, re-navigate, reformulate, reconsider, redefine, reprocess, reinstall etc, etc.

When faced with retrograde related snafu’s sometimes the best choice is to just release and relax until the “roadblocks” clear!

This is the first Mercury Rx period of 2011 and occurs entirely in the fire sign Aries. As an extroverted sign, Aries is driven, individualistic and initiating and has a difficult time accepting “no” for an answer. An “I can and Will do it” attitude is the fortitude of Aries and acceptance of defeat does not come easily, if at all, within this sign. Mercury within Aries can be passionately driven to sharing viewpoints with little concern for social proprieties. This can be a positive attribute for it tends to foster inspiration coming to actualization much quicker than those that would seek the popular majority vote and/or get caught up in the rhetoric of “political correctness” while seeking to bring their thoughts to form .

While some Mercury retrogrades periods are quite benign, and come and go with few snarls and frustrations, I don’t believe this one in Aries is going to be of that nature.  Aries detests being held back and with so many planets lining up in the Sign of the Ram for April this Ram is going to be seriously juiced up.

With co-rulers of Aries, Mars and Pluto, squaring one another from Aries(mars) to Capricorn(pluto) for most of the retrograde period we have the potential for these fiery energies to be put into play in some very volatile forms. I wouldn’t be surprised if many feel like a rubber-band stretched beyond it’s comfort zone. On the plus side, if you reach the end of each day with your personal rubber band still intact than you’ll never again doubt that you’re meditation practices, fitness routines, stress-reduction classes etc. truly were worth the time and effort you put into them.

A bit of caution for the weeks ahead: I think it would be wise these next weeks to stayed tuned in to your environment and avoid as much as possible the company of those that don’t give a darn about how well, or not, they handle their personal volatility. So says the Moon-Pluto-Mars t-square gal…

On a final note, Mercury while traveling retrograde will be making numerous aspects, time frames/events are listed below. Mars and Pluto will be square from April 3rd-20th while applying and separating.

This scene and dialog has been with me for days and seems appropriate to the themes of our Aries lineup and Mercury Rx Period~

The Sun enters Aries on March 20th, 2011 @ 7:21 pm EST, announcing the Vernal-Spring Equinox in the northern hemisphere and ushering in the astrological New Year. This day is celebrated as the Return of Light for the vernal equinox marks the point where the days and nights are of equal length, with the days continuing to build in duration and the nights shortening their span, until the time of the Summer Solstice in June. It is during the vernal equinox that we seed our intentions for the following year and the energies presenting at the point of the Sun’s annual ingress of Aries lends a snapshot look of the trends and tones for the subsequent 3 month period leading to the Summer Solstice.

The Vernal Equinox of 2011′s stand-out feature is the occupation of the Aries Point by both the Sun and Uranus. Uranus transits Aries every 84 years and while some of the previous cycles within the past few hundred years have found Uranus conjunct the Vernal Equinox Sun at Aries Point within a few degree’s, this is the first Vernal Equinox to occur since the year 1425 that both the Sun and Uranus are exactly on the Aries Point together. What an amazing treat to be gifted with this year as the Sun, our Life Force and conscious Self, blends with Uranus, the initiator of Awakenings!

The beginning of June 2010 brought the much anticipated conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus on the Aries Point. By the time the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction occurred last summer the Sun had already made his annual journey through Aries. Now we have the Sun transiting the point that the merging of Jupiter-Uranus seeded with expansive and radically different potentials last June, and as the Sun crosses the Aries Point, the infusion of the Sun’s rays will bring to life the potentials of the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction of last year. Uranus, already upon 1°Aries, will enhance the vitality that the Sun brings to this degree by hastening the bursting forth of dynamic, new life force expressions. A quickening is most definitely at hand! Mars will further activate this sensitive degree, catalyzing further developments, when he moves into Aries the beginning of April.

The 2011 Vernal Equinox chart suggests we are entering a rather busy period with the Sun, Mercury, Jupiter and Uranus all within initiating Aries and the Moon, Saturn and Pluto all within action-oriented signs. A strong emphasis is placed upon Fire and Air which will supply plenty of inspiration and mental stimulation. With Pluto the only planet to represent Earth, practical matters will seem less appealing and there is a lack of naturally grounding energy therefore the tendency towards nervousness, or feelings of not being totally in one’s body, is increased. Practices that serve to anchor one’s self into the root chakra and spending time connecting with Mother Earth can help with this tremendously! Both Mars and Chiron are within Water yet the energy here too is somewhat lacking and indicates that we will not be likely to experience the more pronounced levels of emotionality that characterized the past weeks during our multi-planet Pisces emphasis. Many are likely to welcome the emotional reprieve, I think!

Elsewhere in this equinox chart we find Saturn and the Moon in Libra are just slightly separated from conjunction. Across the chart in Aries we find the conjunction of Sun-Uranus as well as the recent separation of Mercury from Jupiter. Saturn in Libra is still applying to the next exact opposition with Jupiter and the Moon is applying tightly to opposition with Mercury while the oppositions from Sun-Uranus to Moon-Saturn are quite wide. These Aries to Libra oppositions imply a need to temper the enthusiasm for, and expansion of, one’s self-interests with the responsible attendance of one’s own security-related and emotionally based needs as well as meeting those same said needs, or being considerate of these needs, in those whom we embrace as our family and partners. While it may seem that common sense would dictate the need for such balancing at all times, Aries can nevertheless incite a “Me First!” drive, so I suppose it never hurts to be reminded of, and to instill a reminder to self, of the need to extend to others what you wish to be extended unto you.

Onto another note specifically involving the opposition between Aries and Libra sectors and specifically the energies exchanging between Saturn, the Moon, Mercury and Jupiter. While Saturn-Moon can provide a stabilizing of the emotional body and other Moon represented matters such as family, hearth and home, past-related situations/issues etc., it also indicates a more serious, possibly even depressive emotional disposition and outlook with the oppositional Mercury-Jupiter involvement. Effects are more personal in nature and will vary widely dependent on individual placements, conditions and how well one deals with stress. For those that feel the depressive nature of these influences “Rome was not built in a day” comes to mind, so kindly allow yourself the breaks you need to rejuvenate while remembering that though our most rewarding creations  most often require much initial effort there does come a point where you reach the apex and then a coasting-through becomes more the order of the day.

Onward to the co-rulers of Aries Point, Mars in Pisces and Pluto in Capricorn, which are separating by Quintile. This quintile suggests a recently well-developed skill or talent that is of importance to one’s new endeavors. With the applying square between the Sun-Uranus to Pluto in Capricorn I would suspect this ‘skill or talent’ to surface more fully in expression as the Sun forms the exact square to Pluto in about a week and in April when Mars crosses the Aries Point and again aspects Pluto by square.

Lastly! A look to Venus shows her sitting quite graciously in Aquarius as she moves towards conjunction with Neptune while forming a beautiful trine with the Moon and a sextile to Mercury. I am really liking this feel of Venus here for she appears to smooth out and tone down some of the more erratic and abrasive tones in this Equinox chart. Her reminder for us I feel, as she poses cool as a cucumber, is to remember when feeling harried or pessimistic to stop and smell those roses!, take the moments to exchange a kind and loving missive or words with another of like need and to continue to believe in the dream that oneself and humanity can and will rise to our Highest Expressions of Love.

On March 19th, 2011  our Virgo Full Moon occurs @ 28°48′ Virgo/Pisces at 2:11 pm EST proceeded by the Vernal Equinox on March 20th at 7:20 pm EST. The Virgo Full Moon brings to culmination that which began during the previous Pisces New Moon.

This post delineates the Full Moon and will be followed upon my Equinox interpretation (hopefully before the event)!

A service-related axis, Virgo-Pisces represents the balance of preforming practical, everyday services and routines while maintaining one’s ethos in relation to the service of a Higher vision, law and/or common good, and vice versa. Within this axis we seek to ground higher ideals into practical forms while being cognizant that our practical forms embody and promote a Higher Vision.

Virgo-Pisces is also representative of our relationship to healing. Healing within Pisces is attained through forms of surrender, compassionate expressions and the recognition of the greater connectivity of all life with these attributes being best fostered via practices that promote objectivity and a philosophy that stretches beyond the confines of the material world. Within Pisces we nurture that which is beyond the limitations of the physical world. Within Virgo healing is attained via the practice of daily routines that strengthen and promote the well-being of the physical body and mind and these regimens are generally approached in a more subjective manner and developed through analytic applications. Virgo sustains by developing forms and techniques through recognition and respect of the limitations of physicality.

The specifics for, and my interpretation of, this Virgo Full Moon are as follows:

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun @ 29° Pisces shares: “Light is breaking into many colors as it passes through a prism”. Here we find that the Sun is focusing Light/Knowledge/Wisdom that has previously been beyond our capability to see/know/grasp into simpler forms that are more easily comprehended. Uranus, residing on the Aries Point (1°), is tightly conjunct the Piscean Sun and is anxious to get on to the business of the ‘new’ and therefore seeks to hasten our departure from the ‘old’ via sudden epiphanies and/or events that bring us quickly to the understandings represented as possibilities via the 29th Pisces Sun degree. As this is a Full Moon these energies will be focused to the Moon degree at 29 Virgo. The Sabian Symbol for the Moon @ 29° Virgo shares: “A seeker of occult knowledge is reading an ancient scroll which illumines his mind”. This symbol implies that the focus of illumination will promote an understanding of previously hidden/unknown information through analysis of previously “recorded/experienced” information/situations.

Due to the Full Moon degree tightly squaring the degree’s of the December 2010 Lunar Eclipse(and also the current position of the transiting Nodes which were conjunct the Lunar Eclipse last December), the unfolding events of the current Full Moon are likely to be in direct correlation to what was catalyzed by last Decembers LE, this correlation lending a certain gravity to the further unveiling of situations and our chosen responses to said situations.

This lunation also finds the Sun conjunct Uranus and the opposing Moon in an applying wide square to Pluto in Capricorn. This formation is technically an out-of-sign T-square that places pressure upon our Pluto/Capricorn initiatives(the re-creation/invention of societal persona’s and responsibilities) via what is illuminated/generated by the Sun-Uranus to Moon opposition. Both the Sun and Moon quickly transition into Cardinal signs (Aries and Libra) post Full Moon and then bring this mixed mutable/cardinal t-square fully into a cardinal expression. Due to this rapid translation of energy that which is received/accepted via the Full Moon might be quickly acted upon/initiated within hours of the Full Moon as the mutable influence gives way to cardinal.

The squares to Pluto are reflective of inharmonious situations and adjustments may be required to fulfill the promise of this lunation with considerations and/or actions being applied to Cancer related concerns such as emotional well-being, family, the past, home, women etc.

With Uranus’ involvement in these squares to Pluto the inclination may arise to throw aside anything that one feels is suppressing their ability to express themselves individually or hampering their quest for new experiences yet these urges are best tempered by finding a means to compromise with what one wishes to achieve on the individual level with what one’s commitment are to familial and societal relations.

Also to be considered is the conjunction of Mercury and Jupiter in Aries as they are the rulers of the Moon and Sun degrees respectively. Mercury-Jupiter are currently applying in opposition to Saturn in Libra. This configuration lends a grounding quality and one application of this aspect could be viewed as our need to willingly apply parameters to our new endeavors that allow for our continuing fulfillment of relational responsibilities while seeking to embrace and develop our individual endeavors. Mercury/Jupiter is conducive to the expansion of mental processes and communications while Saturn rewards responsibility and common-sense-ability.  Taking this into consideration, I feel the caution here is to monitor and form one’s thoughts and communications in a manner that does not belie one’s good-sense and authoritativeness  nor give the appearance of, or initiate in earnest, a bucking of one’s true responsibility to others due to a misaligned desire for, or belief of, self-grandiosity. Simply put: temper that urge to grandstand like a peacock if you’ve not got the goods to back it and even if you have the goods to back it, but it does not bode favorably for those you hold dear, same advice!

While this Full Moon holds much promise it also needs to be carefully navigated for there are some rather tense and conflicting energies afoot. Finding the middle path, sticking to it, and being considerate of all parties will undoubtedly produce the best results for everyone. If feeling spread thin, anxious or emotionally overwhelmed due to the tension during this Moon remember that tension is what catalyzes us to actions and though discomfort often accompanies forward gains in retrospect we generally find the discomfort to be a distant echo and yet vividly recall and appreciate the gains!

There is certainly enough energy packed into this lunation to round corners and make headway over longer-standing issues/concerns. We are sliding right into Equinox tomorrow and things will heat up and quicken rapidly. I hope we all take the time to honor this beautiful Moon and reflect one last time on where our journey’s have carried us this the past year before we jump forward and get on with living our new days and ways.

On March 11th, 2011 Uranus reentered Aries, reawakening the potentials first glimpsed when Uranus briefly occupied the Aries Point (1°) during June, July and the first half of August 2010. Until March of 2019, Aries and Uranus will be working hand-in-hand to revolutionize our lives through awakening within the individual their personal capacity for ingenuity and creative uniqueness. During this period we will be encouraged to develop these qualities into forms that allow for a greater self-sufficiency hence providing us with a greater sense of our Individual Self and imbuing a healthy measure of self-empowerment within those that navigate this period responsibly.

With Uranus’s reentry into Aries we begin our approach to the square meets of revolutionary Uranus and evolutionary Pluto. Following is the timetable for the exact squares of Uranus in Aries to Pluto in Capricorn:

2012: Last week of June (9°) and last week of August (8°)

2013: 3rd week of May (12°) and 1st week of November (10°)

2014: Last week of April (14°) and 3rd week of December (13°)

2015: 3rd week of March (16°)

Though the first exact square of Uranus and Pluto is not due until June 2012, these two titans of reformation will be within a 2 degree orb by the upcoming Summer Solstice, remaining in tight orb throughout the summer months and into September. This summer will be the second season that both Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn participate in our Cardinal T-square and Crosses of 2011 which will be in full swing as the  inner planets transit early Cancer and Libra. The series of 2011 Squares/Crosses begin in mid-June with Mercury’s ingress of Cancer and culminate with Mercury’s ingress of Libra the last week of September. ***Note that Mars will participate in the 2011 configurations when he transits Cancer in early August yet shall not transit Libra until later in 2012.

The New Moon at 13°56 Pisces occurs on March 4th, 2011 @ 3:46 pm EST and is positioned within the midst of an 8-body cluster, including the co-rulers of this lunation, Jupiter and Neptune.

Pisces, as the Ocean of Pure Potential, is the space traveled in which we let go of/surrender/dissolve that which is no longer productive, purposeful and/or viable before the transition into Aries, the space of birthing anew. For those that embrace the philosophy that energy exists within a continual state of transformation yet can never truly be annihilated, and that all forms are of an energetic structure, then  Pisces can be seen as serving the function of divesting us of patterns and forms that have reached the end of their usefulness so that we are optimally prepared to embrace new life, and life anew!, upon our entry into Aries.

When Pisces is emphasized in the nativity, or by transit, this energy is well-suited for service-related endeavors that foster a broader awareness of our Greater Existence for it is within this space that one can move with relative ease beyond the narrower confines of 3D constructs and beliefs.

Positive characteristics associated with Pisces are compassion, imagination, creativity and intuition. Those that have fostered these traits are capable of tapping the Pure Potential and bringing forth into material form magnificent creations that embody a transcendental quality that communicates on levels directly to our Soul. These Piscean “magicians” serve as liasons between humanity and the All That IS as they bridge worlds and ages effortlessly, unrestricted by time and/or space, and through their works they gift us with the opportunity to experience That Which Is Indefinable.

Negative manifestations of Piscean energy are escapist tendencies often appearing in the form of addictions, lethargy, fragmentation within self and/or disconnectedness from others and through self-pitying behaviors stemming from a belief of not being adequately equipped to maneuver the material plane. Of course if these negative manifestations are apparent utilizing the qualities of Virgo(the Piscean opposite) to enhance grounding is beneficial.

Themes of death, what  it is and what it is not, often arise within the realms of Pisces. Those that find some measure of mastery within this space, and are freed of unproductive or misaligned beliefs concerning death, find better efficiency in utilizing their creative-force in the birthing of creations that are substantially healthier on all levels for Self and Others than those whom would seek to create from a fear base and whose creative efforts are employed in a manner that they believe would somehow circumvent the death process.

By entering Pisces with the willingness to embrace a broader vision of death processes we can release ourselves from miasm’s that would otherwise imbue our new creations arising within Aries with toxic elements and that at some point would become harmful to ourselves, others and/or the Higher Good.

This New Moon in Pisces invites us to clear ourselves of the struggles of the previous year and to clear space for the new beginnings now on the horizon. This is a time to set intentions that will bring healing to oneself and others of trauma’s, on any level, that may prevent embracing a fresh start with optimism and a broader vision. This time is also well spent in inner reflection of one’s previous years experiences and rectifying what one considers to be gains and losses so that energy stores are replenished and available for new undertakings in the weeks ahead.

The specifics and my interpretation are as follows:

The Sun and Moon( the integrated Self) are holding company in Pisces with Chiron (whom remains conjunct Neptune in Aquarius, albeit out of sign), with Mars (by separating conjunction) and with Mercury (conjunct the lunation, separating from the Sun, applying with the Moon).

Uranus, though not tightly conjunct this New Moon, is perched on the last degree of Pisces and is an attention grabber for this is the last we will experience his Piscean presence for another 84 years. Uranus reenters Aries on the 11th of March, preceding the Virgo Full Moon two weeks hence, so I think it is safe to say that anything Uranus still has in store for us before his departure to Aries is likely to become apparent in the time frame immediately following the exact Moon and undoubtedly will tie in with the themes of this New Moon. Due to Uranus already having traversed this last degree previously the ‘shock factor’ should not be overly severe if attention has been paid to circumstances arisen in the past. There are many separating aspects within this lunation chart and these I view as the likelihood that much that occurs during this New Moon phase has already been at least glimpsed as a possibility, if not yet completely understood and/or dealt with.

While the Moon in Pisces is highly emotional it is also deeply intuitive and with her recent separation from conjunction with Neptune, Chiron and then Mars, an inner knowing/wisdom may have been acquired that will assist in directing what actions may be necessary to release oneself from previous conditions that are not fostering one’s rebirthing. As the Moon moves to conjunct Mercury and then Uranus(and Mercury is following right behind joining Uranus on the last degree of Pisces soon after), intuitive insights may lead to formulating plans that will quickly be acted upon after Uranus enters Aries.

Saturn in Libra and the New Moon Lights are applying inconjunct and with Saturn also applying by frictional aspects to both rulers of the New Moon, Jupiter and Neptune, there may be a need to exercise patience as elements may appear that seem to thwart one’s choice of direction in some way. As we have such a large amount of energy moving quickly through the late Aquarius – early Aries zone though these ‘stop-measures’ will likely be but tiny hiccups as the currents within and surrounding Pisces have a strong undertow at this time and much will be quickly washed away that does not fit our future designs.

While the applying Saturn to Jupiter opposition in this chart is still somewhat loose we are still feeling the effects of the recent Jupiter-Pluto square and both of these aspects do factor in to some degree. We also have Saturn once again applying to a square with Pluto, though this square shall not come exact again while Saturn is in Libra. With these formations, echos are present here nonetheless, not only from the recent Pluto-Jupiter square but also from the previous years exact squares of Saturn-Pluto. If feeling pessimistic, doubtful, or pinned down in some manner double-check the facts of NOW to see if there is truly a situation occurring in the moment(the applying Saturn-Jupiter opposition) that warrants these feelings. As Jupiter-Saturn comes closer in orb to exact opposition, balancing one’s expansions with one’s limitations may be necessary in the near future, yet for now there should be time to reassess anything that falls into this category and to clear residual echoes that may not warrant any action whatsoever.

Venus in early Aquarius, though not directly aspecting the New Moon, is still in mutual reception to Saturn and sextiles Jupiter. Though Venus in Aquarius is often deemed to be aloof and detached, with so much emotional energy churning at this time, I think a little bit of detachment can be stabilizing. Possibly one of Venus’s roles in this lunation is to encourage us to review our relations in regards to their ability to foster the meeting of individual desires while still maintaining a union.

Independent, visionary and ingenious, Aquarius is co-ruled by Saturn and Uranus and when well functioning is capable of bringing into today’s reality forms that offer a bridge to the future. Though the co-rulers of this sign may seem odd bed-fellows, Saturn provides the perseverance and grounding energy that is necessary to implement into a material world structure the cutting edge insights of Uranus. As the natural 11h sign of the Zodiac, Aquarius also serves the function of aligning like-purposed individuals in order to advance societal development through their collaborated endeavors.

The specifics of this New Moon:

Applying aspects(indicating future events) include the Sun/Moon tightly conjunct Mars while co-ruler of the lunation, Saturn,is  applying trine to the conjunction trio. Saturn is nicely aspected for this New Moon by quintile to Venus, the ruler of Saturn’s current residence. Venus also is applying to an out of sign square with Jupiter in early Aries.

Separating aspects(representing past events) include a semi-square from the Sun/Moon/Mars trio and the lunation’s second co-ruler Uranus. The Venus-Uranus square is also separating.

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun/Moon @ 14° Aquarius is: “A Train entering a Tunnel” and for Mars @ 15° Aquarius: “Two Lovebirds Sitting on a Fence Singing Happily”.

These degree’s illustrate a transition into harmonic collaboration and are beautifully descriptive of the nature of this New Moon.

With Uranus and Jupiter in a separating conjunction spanning late Pisces(endings) and early Aries (beginnings), and Uranus due to reenter Aries in March, we truly are in a stage of transition and now we have the benefit of Mars assisting our transition by lending drive to act upon opportunities that will foster harmonic collaborations in our lives.

Saturn transiting Libra has been evaluating and strength testing our relationships for some time now, as well as mentoring us on where we ourselves could(and probably should..smiles!) make improvements in the manners in which we conduct ourselves within relational matters. Due to the supportive trine applying with Saturn and the New Moon our personal relationships will play into the current lunation dynamics to some degree.

With the Saturn in Libra influence in this lunation I feel we see not only the group markers in play by Aquarius but we are also looking to our most personal relationships of mate’s and business partners to determine how they fit into our Aquarian roles and if our, and their, paths are similar or at least somewhat compatible for our future roles.

Though Aquarius is strongly resonant with individuality(as is Aries) it also fosters collaboration through group endeavors where as Aries tends to express it’s individuality in a more primal nature and is not overly concerned with the approval nor assistance of others. Aquarian individuality is therefore an essence of being able to maintain one’s individuality while being part of a larger group and this most often is achieved in groups where a similar cause/purpose is present that supercedes concerns of a lower ego based nature that would prevent individuals from working or socializing together.

Once again considering the Saturn-Libra influence on this lunation I believe we are reminded that it can be very difficult to maintain a more personal relationship in a healthy form if the humanitarian viewpoints and/or future objectives of the individuals within said relationship are not compatible  and/or if one, or both parties, are unable to reasonably respect the personal importance to their partner of their individual friendships and group participation’s.

This New Moon offers a lot of promise in assisting one to align with others of similar/same interests and to also help to identify where any current relations may not be conducive to one’s goals/intentions and a change of course in some manner is needed.

Obviously we need to be clear and in-tune with ourselves as to what is of importance to us and where we wish to be in the future so that we are singing the proper tune that shall align us with others we can find harmonic resonance with. Due to the separating aspects of this lunation I feel most have at least some idea of who(m) or what they are not harmonizing with.

The months ahead are favorable for socialization so it is time to work towards getting ourselves with those we wish to be enjoying some pleasurable times with.

A note of interest is that we find the Moon degree of this Full Moon to be the exact-to the-minute degree (29 CAN 27) of the Total Solar Eclipse of July 21st-22nd,  2009. The duration of effect of the July 2009 Solar Eclipse extends through 2012 so it is likely that events stimulated by the July ’09 event will find resonance within this current Full Moon.

This current Cancer lunation is the 4th in a series of 5 consecutive Full Moons that occur on the last degree of their respective signs. A degree of transition, the 29th degree represents the end of the matter in relation to the concerns of said sign and when we arrive at this point it is a time of culminating the wisdom and beneficial works from said sign while eliminating anything that is non-beneficial and cannot be carried forward into the next sign for further development. There are often last minute efforts to bring to culmination matters of said sign and leaps of faith are on occasion taken when one feels a situation is just under the closing bell.

Due to it’s transitional nature this last degree can also be a space of oscillation for when a planet resides in this degree there is a revolving door effect. Gravitating between spaces and feeling as if one is neither able to go back nor forward this oscillation dynamic can be quite stressful if one attempts to find a solution or take an action based upon either/or perceptions. To bridge this transitional space as seamlessly as is possible elimination of either/or thinking, and often the  Surrender to a “Higher Power/Wisdom”,  becomes necessary.

The focus for this Full Moon is upon the Cancer-Capricorn axis with Moon/Cancer concerns (domestic issues, family concerns, nurturing, early life, the past and the emotions) being brought to the fore while the Sun in opposition to the Moon highlights Saturn/Capricorn concerns(public, responsibility, practicality, ambitions and endurance) and shows where we may need to adjust Moon/Cancer concerns to form a more harmonious relation between our Cancer and Capricorn life areas.

With the Moon in her home sign of Cancer and upon the exact degree of the July ’09 Solar Eclipse this should be quite a productive period of culminations over the next 2 weeks!

The specifics for this lunation:

A conjunction is forming between the Sun to Mars in early Aquarius while Mars is applying in opposition to the Moon. Aquarius being a future oriented sign reminds us, via Mars, that actions taken during this Full Moon period should be considered in relation to the future of our goals and how they adhere, or not, to the well-being of the collective while the conjunction of Mars to the Sun in Capricorn encourages being mindful of our integrity as we preform any public related duties. These endeavors should be measured in relation to the concerns of the Cancer Moon(family,home,past, emotions etc) as we are seeking a balance that allows for one to preform their public responsibilities while also honoring the needs of home, family and one’s emotional well-being.

Jupiter @ 30° Pisces is in a very tight applying trine to the Moon and sextile the Sun bringing support through divine protection. As Jupiter upon the last degree of Pisces(culmination,compassion) is the final dispositor for all planets (except the Moon at home in Cancer), should any personal endings still need to occur before we step completely into our new beginnings via the return of Jupiter(Jan.22nd) and Uranus(March 12th) into Aries, blessings are to be found in dealing with such endings with as much compassion as is possible for one’s self and any other involved.

As this is the 4th of our 5 consecutive 30th degree Full Moons following 2010′s intensive transits we have been sorting, rebuilding and stabilizing many area’s of our lives for a while now. While this will continue a bit longer we also are quickly approaching the arrival of the energies of Jupiter and Uranus in Aries that will bring new opportunities and some very exciting fire energies back into our days so if you too are just as weary as I am of this stage, keep moving! The New Moon at 13°40′ Scorpio occurs on November 6th, 2010 @ 12:52 am EDT and 4:52 am UT.

This lunation brings the opportunity to begin something anew, or redirect our course, in a manner that allows for Scorpio related themes to operate in the highest form in our lives. Scorpio, a fixed water sign, is the space of regeneration(healing) through elimination. As the eighth sign of the zodiac, Scorpio concerns revolve around shared energy/resources, legacies, sex, intimacy, transformations, death and rebirth. Scorpio is a piercing energy that seeks to go directly to the root of any situation/issue and has little tolerance for half-truths or mind-games.

Healing that takes place within the realm of Scorpio has a deeply invasive quality and is a no-stone left unturned procedure. What lies hidden and rejected, emotional and/or psychological, must be brought to awareness to satisfy Scorpio’s need to purify the organism(individual, familial or societal) through the penetration of the psyche.

For any given individual, familial unit and society, dependent upon the conditions of social propriety at their time of existence, there are certain subjects and experiences considered “taboo” for any number of reasons within the entity in question. These “taboo” forms are subjective in nature and not all forms are relative to all individuals/groups. Yet no matter the substance of that which is hidden, and may be considered too unseemly to be brought into public recognition, the burying of the form leads not to freedom from said form but to the degradation of the host individual or group through a stagnation of the energy of said form through the denial of Light(wisdom/understanding). This is not to imply that all forms that are designated to be “taboo” are healthy and productive for the growth of an individual or society yet it is only through the acknowledgment of the existence of a ‘thing’, no matter it’s form or attributes, that liberation from said thing or further integration and embodiment of, can begin to take place.

The current lunation offers an opportunity to bring into unity our masculine and feminine selves(light and dark/sun and moon) through the resolution of Scorpionic issues, by breaking with past emotional and psychological conditions that are unfavorable, and through choosing a healthier course to embark upon that is more conducive to our emotional and psychological well-being.

The New Moon @ 14° Scorpio makes no major forming aspects though there are other considerations as follows:

We find this New Moon occurring on the same degree, 14 Scorpio, upon which Venus stationed retrograde in October during the Libra New Moon. The Sabian Symbol for the degree of the VenusRx station and of the current New Moon shares that this degree is one of “A Telephone Lineman at Work Installing New Connections”. When Venus stationed upon this degree we were shown what the goal for this Venus retrograde period was to be, though first we had to undergo the retrograde phase, working out along the way any kinks that may be preventing the “installation of the new connections”. Since no event stands alone, and all is interwoven into a larger design, to truly appreciate the New Moon in Scorpio we must also consider the larger backdrop occurring that this lunation is woven into and the current themes dictated by VenusRx need to be incorporated.

VenusRx in Scorpio has been assisting us in identifying any hidden blockages that may be preventing our fullest expression of our Venus functions in a manner that is conducive to our Highest potential. Any blockages identified at this time are likely to have their roots generating from a misaligned psychology in relation to “taboo” subjects, forms and/or experiences. Again, it is important to keep in mind that what is considered taboo by one may not be so to another.

I have found from experience that issues designated as taboo are those that most often generate feelings of shame and guilt. To adequately judge a form as being healthy or unhealthy, productive or non-productive, acceptable or taboo, one must consider a broader context of variables beyond merely feelings such as shame and guilt and therefore must go beyond confined parameters to attain a full measure of the form.

The co-rulers of this lunation, Mars and Pluto( in Sagittarius and Capricorn respectively), assist our quest during this New Moon with Mars in Sagittarius willing us to expand our perceptions beyond ‘just the facts’ and to explore beyond our current boundaries for solutions that offer liberation through our identifying our personal “Truth”.

Pluto in Capricorn, now tightly conjunct the North Node(our path of highest development potential), continues to urge us to transform anything that prevents our being a productive member of larger society while also bringing us into a more mature form of authority in some manner than we have previously been.

Mercury, also in residence in Scorpio though not in orb of the lunation, is in a tight square to Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius and is providing the impetus to delve deeply into Scorpionic issues that may be hindering personal and collective healing by addressing one’s thought forms and taking appropriate measures to correct any thought processes in relation to Scorpio concerns(sex, death, intimacy etc) that are found to be misaligned.

Jupiter, co-ruler of  Pisces, is the final dispositor in the New Moon chart and offers blessings and protection for our New Moon intentions and endeavors while also fostering healing in whatever manner is necessary. This may entail more endings in some form yet these endings continue to prepare the space from which new beginnings shall come forth early next year when both Jupiter and Uranus reenter Aries.

This New Moon places a strong emphasis on the value of honest discourse with one’s self leading to the embodiment of a truer power.

It is my opinion that True Power is born of the mastering of one’s shadows, of one’s “taboo’s”, and through the subsequent following of what one knows to be proper, and in alignment with their Highest Path, without being dissuaded nor discouraged in their pursuit of that Path by the opinions and/or beliefs of others. It is not necessarily an easy road to tread and yet to follow the path of another(s) that is not congruent with one’s own merely leads to a hollowness of experience that wearies the Soul and separates us from our True Nature.

VenusRx these past weeks has been making it clear where we may be pursuing objectives that we falsely believed could fulfill our desires for Love and Beauty. Likewise, this Rx period has also been a reminder as to what does qualify in our experiences as fulfilling Venus expressions.

I recommend when resetting your course with this New Moon and/or sowing new intentions to first consider where you now stand in relation to your Venusian principles and then utilize this Scorpio New Moon to jump start you onto a path free from emotional and psychological baggage that prevents your standing in your True Power and sharing your Truest Self with others.

Scorpio is known for it’s manifestation ability through the focus of Will, and for those that are intent upon release from emotional and psychological wounds that are enslaving in some form, now is the time to pull out the stops and focus one’s full intent on breaking those chains once and for all.
